Ministry of Education Requirements for a Safe Return to Campus in Fall 2021
Dear members of the UOBD community,
This month, the Ministry of Education (MOE) circulated the 6th Release of its document titled “Operation of Educational Establishments during the Pandemic: Protocols & Procedures.” I am in the process of writing UOBD’s own “Operational Plan for the Preparedness for a Safe Return” (encompassing 164 requirements) which complies with the MOE’s Protocols and Procedures.
There are specific requirements set by the MOE regarding vaccination, which I would like to bring to your attention. These requirements are listed below and UOBD, like all other educational institutions, is required by the MOE to enforce them:
||Vaccination is compulsory from 16 years of age or older to enter the educational establishments.
||Those who obtained a certificate of exemption from vaccination will follow the procedures approved by the concerned authorities.
||Priority in participating in events and activities is only for vaccinated persons.
||There are periodic Covid-19 tests for non-vaccinated persons according to the health authorities.
||The above criteria may be subject to change based on the latest requirements of health authorities.
I am bringing these requirements to your attention now in order to allow planning and early action for compliance by all members of the UOBD community in advance of the fall 2021 semester which starts on August 29, 2021.
