UOB History


About the University of Balamand (UOB)

The University of Balamand (UOB) is a private, non-profit, independent, Lebanese educational institution of higher education. The University is dedicated to the study of the arts, sciences, and professional fields including Engineering and Medicine, that serve the interests of the community of Lebanon and the Arab East and is committed to excellence in these fields. It is also committed to research, teaching-learning, and service to its community.

The University has 117 agreements/affiliations with national and international institutions around the world including UK, USA, Canada, France, Italy, etc.
The University sought and received European accreditation from the prestigious German-based Accreditation, Certification, and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN) in September 2015. Preparatory work is being done in all Departments of the Faculty of Engineering in anticipation of beginning the process of accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).
